How To Save A Dog
61
Most people feel as though CPR is just for humans. We try to protect our family as well as our pets, but learning CPR for pets can help save a life. CPR is an emergency procedure use when a heart or breathing has stopped. The same exact procedure for CPR on humans, is used on animals as well. Performing CPR helps give your pet a chance to survive. Everyone needs to learn the ABC's of CPR, which includes airway, breathing, and circulation. Observe your pet behavior if he or she becomes ill. Notice signs of vomit, feces, inability to breathe, blood present. If your pet isn't breathing accordingly,or there isn't no sign of a pulse, then proceed with CPR.
Steps for pet CPR:
- Clear mouth of foreign objects, if no signs of breathing
- Lay pet on one side to release any vomiting
- Tilt head back gently to extend the neck
- Carefully grasp the tongue out of the pet mouth
- Sweep fingers into the pet mouth for foreign matter, if necessary perform the hemlech manuver.

I would hate for anything to happen to my little puppy. Thanks for a great hub.
I saw a vet do CPR on our dog. Unfortunately it was too late. It was one of the worse experiences I've ever had. But it's good to know that CPR can be done on dogs. I'm not qualified to give one though.
